Chatterbox Acres

Registered Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats in VA

Chatterbox Acres is located in the Shenandoah Valley of VA, close to Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia are short drives away.

We raise dual-registered Nigerian Dwarf goats (both AGS and ADGA).  In 2013, we participated in the ADGA linear appraisal program with our then small herd.  We hope to participate again in 2018 and then to make a large herd reduction in summer 2018.

Our family adores our goats, with both children and adults interacting with and caring for the goats on a daily basis.  Each goat has a unique personality that we know well.  Providing socialization to goat kids and having friendly goats is one of our goals.

If you are interested in making goats a part of your life, we encourage you to drop us a line and let us know where your interests lie (milking, showing, friendly kids, etc.).   We will do our best to match you up with kids or adults that we hope will meet your needs.   We look forward to hearing from you!

Herd Health Information

In October 2012, all testing age does and bucks serology-tested negative for CAE & Johne's disease.  CL bloodtesting is often not accurate - should any animal develop an abscess, the abscess' exudate will be tested for CL.

ALL 26 MEMBERS OF THE HERD TESTED CAE NEGATIVE ON 1/29/2015 (through WADDL); New additions after 1/29/2015 are tested for CAE, CL, and Johnes before joining the herd.
